Seed Saving on Saturday

This beautiful Sunflower has seen better days.........

The amazing seed pod of the Mexican Sunflower is photographed above.  I think the dead blooms are almost as pretty as the true bloom in a photograph. This bloom will shine again because today I saved it's seeds for planting next spring .

Check out my Video Blog on Seed Saving at BGgarden Video .

I hope this will inspire you to get out and cut some seeds to save for next season!

Happy Cutting!

Hello,

I think that those photos show that the flowers did their job - they grew, people enjoyed their beauty, they produced seeds - now the beauty is more stark but it is still there.

Hi Bren~~ And I'm thinking if you don't get to that sunflower soon, the chickadees will! :)

Nice photos, Bren. Has someone been chewing on the sunflower already? ;-)
