Humid & Hot Bloom Tuesday

Lantana and Moss Rose

What better to share on a humid and hot Summer Bloom Tuesday then the tropical Lantana and Moss Rose. Both are favorites of mine when the heat kicks in. These are always a planted late spring with the other annuals in my front flower beds as little investments to insure a lively garden come the end of the summer season. These plants do best in DRY, low maintenance areas of the garden.

Kind of makes you want to go indulge a margarita or something festive doesn't it?!
ENJOY and Happy Bloom Tuesday from my garden in the Midwest.

A lovely collage of pretty flowers. I am going to a Mexican restaurant tonight where I think I will indulge in a Margarita ;) Not amongst those pretty flowers though, that would be very nice.

I love my moss roses, too! Anything that will grow in hot, dry temps is a midwest girl's dream!

I didn't get any moss roses planted this year, which is unusual as I always have some somewhere in the garden. I think most of my energy was in the vegetable garden this year.

Lovely collage! I like growing both of those, too. They have a nice long bloom season.

Very pretty, Bren! I love the combinations you've created. You could also do a "happy dance" right there in front of the flower bed! ;-)

There were a few things I forgot to plant this year as well Keewee. I think it was because I was so busy starting everything from seed. IT was a wonderful spring and an even better summer watching all of those little seeds become a harvest.

Thank you for your kind words......

Hello Bren, moss roses and lantana grows very well here in the tropics. The colours you have are amazing. The lantana is pretty as well. Happy gardening!

Hi Bren!
Fabulous pictures!
Lantana is beautiful but needs a lot of water!

Bren, your shades of orange, even though it might be coincidence, tell me that fall is right around the corner. We are set for a brand new array of colors. Lovely.

You can't beat lantana for color, long bloom and attracting bees and butterflies. I've never grown moss rose. A lovely presentation Bren. gail

I used to love those portulaca, but now lack the conditions to be successful with them. Love my lantana this year!

I love lantana and moss rose and zinnias and most everything that I can't have because of too much shade... but thankfully I can have the margarita!
