Benches' Greenhouse Rose Heaven!

First off I want to wish you all a wonderful Monday. I hope you are enjoying FABULOUS soon to be Summer weather like we are in the garden. It is sunny and 72* right now in my neck of the woods. The collage above was a rose bud located at the Benches' Greenhouse out in Elmore Ohio. Sunday morning Hubby and I took a wonderful drive out Rt. 6 to a few road side markets. Along the way we came across fresh STRAWBERRIES that are half way in their season in our gardening zone 5b. The best berry find was up in Elmore were we brought home a case of HUGE Jewels for $26! I wanted to can some jam with them but HUBBY says NO WAY stating " these are too good fresh - we can buy jam!" I think his eyes are bigger then his tummy because there is no way we could get through this heaping basket before they go bad.

Benches Greenhouse is Blooming with Summer!

I was going to only focus on the wonderful rose houses but took a minute to snap a few shots in the lily isle. WONDERFUL.... the smell of summer only adds to the experience when visiting this location. I can't wait till my lily bulbs begin to put on a show to share with you.

Two Huge Houses filled with roses.........

Before entering the rose greenhouse I had to stop at the door and just enjoy the color and scent of true HEAVEN for a short moment. After the last 'ahhhh' was uttered I couldn't stop myself from snapping away with my camera. I wish I would have brought my Macro lens but that will have to be another trip. This is one of the largest selection of roses I have seen in a long time. Organized and Healthy - it is clear to see that whoever heads up the rose department at Benches love the art of growing the Rose!

NEW to the BGgarden......

The collage above at the goodies I brought home to add to the BGgarden. I found a new YARROW achillea sibirica 'love parade'. The leaves appear more hardy and carry a red tint to them compared to the other Yarrow in my garden. The Japanese Beautyberry is new to me. Looking forward to the show it will put on this fall as the tag states. I was also excited to find a few new sedum I do not have in my rock / stepping stone area of my hot garden spot. Maybe the most exciting was finding the PROVEN WINNER PERENNIAL section at Benches. I brought home a Dolce Creme Brulee and a new Agastache - Salmon & Pink. I love the Dusty Pink and the BLUE Agastache I featured last year so the Salmon mix will be a treat.

OFF to get the sprinkler moved to the other half of the VEGGIE garden. Thanks for stopping by my blog - I can't wait to share more with you soon!

You always do the nicest collages. I have both Americna Beautyberry and Japanese Beautyberry. Think you will like it a lot!

Lovely collages! I planted a couple beauty berries this spring. I got them at the sale where there were crowds. They are small, but they were a good price, and they are growing.

I agree with Cedar--this is my kind of shopping:) You are lucky to have such a wonderful garden center near you; I think I would have a hard time going home without at least a few of those lilies!

I'd like to see your husband eat all those fresh strawberries, LOL. I still have freezer jam left from last year; there is no way store-bought jam tastes as good!

Thanks for visiting me; you have a lovely blog!

I think it's time for me to gather some inspiration from some of our nurseries. A trip without my wallet- just a notepad. I could be moving very soon and I really don't want to spend any more $ in our current home. When it sells I'll have a nice plant list for the new owners and It is already very long! I love the Yarrow. I've been looking for a Salmon colored one for a while now, but all I find (in seeds anyway) is a mix. Happy gardening to you my friend, your garden is beautiful!
