Oak Park - Great Water Features

More fun with the macro lens on the weekend. I just can't help myself! When I look through that new lens it is like a whole new world that I lose track of time in. I just might have to start a whole new photo gallery site so I can share.

On Friday we spent the afternoon walking the boardwalk at the Irwin Prairie Metro Park. It has been many years since we visited this location and it was exactly how I remembered it. Funny how we use to enjoy visiting this park at the beginning of my husband and I's life together. I can't help but remember how much we enjoyed our time in that park and now we have our own little 'park' we call home. to the right is a collage of photos I put together from our trip. I wanted to share with you the wonderful iris that grew wild in the wet lands. Look at the optical grass of sort that grows with the iris. Wonderful Day - I hope I captured a little piece of it's beauty. Click on the image for an UP CLOSE look.

On the way home we stopped at Oak Park Water Garden. Please visit their website by clicking on their name in the last sentence for a full list of the wonderful products they carry. I was very impressed with their selection of shrubs. I love the way they use the large colorful vases in the garden landscaping. I am thinking about using some of these in my shade garden this year. The biggest challenge is deciding on a color because of the wide selection.

Pictured above are ust a few of the water features at this location. Hard to believe this peaceful water garden was on busy Airport Hwy. They are located just a few miles from I-75 and the Turnpike. Such a peaceful way to end the day.

Sharing the photos and events in this blog entry was a great way to end my busy day. My muscles are super tired from planting most of the veggie garden all day today. I hope to share that work with you soon with photos on this blog.

Happy Weekend Garden Friends,

What a beautiful placed. I love the water garden. As I post this I have the door open to the patio and can hear the little patio water feature. Like your pictures had sound effects.
