Beauty in Hiding

Rainy Day Macro Clematis
Rainy Day in the BGgarden. I was rained out yesterday while trying to layout my veggie beds. I was able to get two 15 foot rows of various peppers in and start plotting out the tomato cages layout. As soon as the lightening and heavy rain arrived I was done for the day. Now I will have to wait a few days before I can plant in what is now my 'mud spa'. This morning I decided to hook up my camera to the tripod and play with the Macro lens. There is so much to learn with the camera but I am loving it. The collage above is a few of my favorites from the hour I spent tucked under the cover of my front porch snapping shots of the beautiful Clematis Vine that has reached about six feet tall so far. I am anxious to see how high this climber will reach on the new trellis my husband put together for me. The trellis this evasive climber grows on is made out of copper piping you can purchase at the local home store.

This may just be..... my favorite photo EVER!
Wishing you all a wonderful rain day. There is truly beauty in every drop.

Beautiful clematis! I'm glad we had rain too. The grass was already turning a bit brown and I didn't want to water it.

Bren, the collage is good. It made me think about looking for my own tripod (I hope I didn't sell it at the garage sale), but the last picture.... I felt like my heart sunk when I saw it. Beautiful!

Bren, very pretty clematis you have gotten there. Sorry you got rained out from the garden. I was finishing up potting some flowers that had grown from seeds when the storm blew in. Needless to say I got drenched getting everything put away. I needed the bath anyway from the humidity and dirt on me :-)That is a beautiful picture of the raindrops on the leaves and petals.

Don't you just love those macro shots. Flowers are incredible, beautiful creations.

I love your macro collage, very pretty, and nicely laid out.

Hope the rain lets up for you so that you can get out to play in your veggie garden.

Thanks for the site listings for the fern leaf peony. I am a history buff and the idea that those plants came across the country on wagon trains is fascinating. I may send you some seeds if I get my act together. Write you about that later.
