Spring ready Bordines Nursery

Spring is in the greenhouses at Bordines' Nursery up in Rochester Hills, Michigan. You would never guess that there was close to 2" of snow in the parking lot and the snow was still falling when we arrived yesterday afternoon. When we entered the greenhouse I was in awe by the display of wonderful spring colors. The fragrance of the spring blooms filled the house. It is hard to pick only a few photos to share on my blog today.

One of my favorite areas of the greenhouse was the combination of the tulips and pots. Every display of garden accessories was creativi

SPRING!

I was excited to find the Primrose was 50% off when we arrived rather then the 30% quoted on their webpage. I'll take two!

LOOK WHAT I BROUGHT HOME : Excited to add this primrose to my garden. I am still trying to figure where I am going to plant this treasure.
Some additional Bordines Nursery products that I brought home with me includes a few HOT PICK SEEDS. What a selection of seed. I was happy to find a full stocked display of Thompson & Morgan Seeds. Rudbeckia 'cherry Brandy', Nasturtium 'strawberries and Cream', Portulaca 'warm gold', Sunflower 'EarthWalker ( Helianthus)' and Basil Cinnamon were the seed packages I brought home. The Basil was free after purchasing two packets at regular price.

TODAY IN MY GARDEN : I was happy to see the Magnoila is coming along but worried about the forecast that includes some nights dropping into the low 30's. I hope to get a few more days worth of photos featuring these fabulous southern blooms. I am so blessed to have one of these trees up in my neck of the woods. Let me remind you I am in zone 5.

Increasing clouds and showers by Friday. Tomorrow I need to get my trees moved out of the starter garden area. The new trees I purchased from the Conservation Center should be in next week. Rain in the forecast is the perfect time to transplant.
MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR DAY!!!

Looks like a nice outing and great photos! I wish I had a greenhouse like that in my back yard, some day...

Thanks for sending the info for the collages to my Mom. I will have to give them a try on my blog, they look so nice and don't take up as much room.

Our local nurseries don't have anything but shrubs, pansies and Easter lilies yet. Maybe another week or so.

Love the colors at Bordines. Just walking in the door would lift your spirits and get you in the mood to garden.

Oh I miss those wonderful garden centers in Michigan. The most showy places are Lowe's and Home Depot. (sigh)

Hi Bren,

I love the way organise your collages. They are colour coordinated so well. That greenhouse seems like a minature garden of eden. Very beautiful. We have a star magnolia that just started blooming here in WA State, so the bloom has begun here near the canadian border.

Hi Bren~~ FUN. I love it when we can escape nature's less than friendly reality for awhile. It looks like you had a great getaway. I am trying the Rudbeckia 'Cherry Brandy' too. If the flower color hasn't been photo-shopped, we're in for one fine flower.

Hi Bren, what a glorious step into the future at that nursery! Primroses are among my favorite, love the color on that one. Here in TN we have to protect them from the heat of summer, but in the right spot they return and can be divided easily to make a nice carpet. Hope your magnolia is unscathed.

What were you going up in the Detroit area? I'm from there originally, and my sister lives right down the road from Bordines, but can you believe I've never been there? Shame on me! I waved at you as we passed through Bowling Green this past weekend on our way home from seeing the family in the Detroit area!
