This IS Cold

To capture COLD was my mission when I bundled up and headed outside with my Fuji digital yesterday. We are expecting an Arctic blast to hit our area today and to last the next few days. When I took these photos it was a mere 5* degrees.
During the short time I was outside taking a few photos this kitty followed me around in the frozen garden. He kept lifting his little paws out of the snow and 'meowing'. As he continued to follow me about it accord to me that he wanted to be with me more then in his warm little shelter box that he came out of to join me. He earned a ride on my shoulders as I took a few last photos.
Smokie and Me

This IS Cold

Sparkling Snow on the -12* Afternoon.

I can't believe I was able to take these photos with a 10 lb. kitty sitting on my right shoulder. Amazing - he must have really wanted to be up there balancing up there so well. Today we were at -10* when I walked about the same spots none of the kitties followed me as I quickly filled the bird feeders and tried to snap a few shots.

That IS cold! It's 8 degrees here this morning, but we have no beautiful snow. I guess after awhile, snow isn't beautiful when you're tired of it, either.

I used to have a cat that loved to ride on shoulders! Theo was always begging for a lift when we'd be outside.

I have just been enjoying several of your last posts. Your photos capture the essence and beauty of winter. Here in California we are experiencing warmer than usual weather with midday temperatures around 70 degrees F.
