To the right is a photo of me and my clematis vine near the front of our home. This vine is four years old and is expected to reach 9 feet this year. I desperately would like to make a trellis to let it climb over the front door entrance to our home but much research is needed for such a structure. Clematis vines are valued for their showy flowers, vigor and adaptability to a wide range of climates. Clematis vines will happily adorn a garden fence, scramble through shrubbery or festoon a trellis with flowers all summer long. Although perennial clematis vines are easy to care for, there are a few requirements that should be met to ensure maximum performance.
Tulips near the garden bird bath. The tulips are finally starting to take effect in my yard. It has taken a few years to figure out where to put them and how many to make a statement. This year I think we are finally making a 'statement'.
Front Enterance to our home is starting to put with the perrennials. I can't wait to begin planting the lantana and other annuals to allow color to bloom all summer long. I did bring home a few new lantana annuals to add with hopes we are clear of any more frost.
The first weekend in May has the pinks and reds starting to pop in the front yard.

Oh, I so hope my yard looks like yours one day. I am in Zone 6. Our tulips and daffs are all gone. And I have very little color left in my yard. Kind of sad. But I'll just keep building on each year. Perhaps in 20 years I will have it down as well hee hee.
